Our classes are designed to accommodate a wide variety of students. From beginners attending their first ever martial arts class to professional MMA fighters preparing for their next fight, our friendly and cooperative environment draws from an innovative and diverse array of techniques, drills and exercises that will help anyone to improve their game.
At TEAM ASCENSION, we are very serious about our training methodology. Core fundamentals and proper technique are instilled and practiced thoroughly in order to provide students with a SOLID grasp of the material so that it can be used at high functionality in REALISTIC situations. Proper postures and positioning are developed early in the students’ training, which cultivates a smooth transition game and prepares students for more advanced material. Techniques and principles are taught in a conceptual format, so that they can be grasped easier and made specific as students become more comfortable with the material.
Different body and personality types are a welcome challenge to any instructor that works from a conceptual framework; the beauty is that there is a game for everybody—all we have to do is find out what works for a person in any given situation once we have a thorough working knowledge of a martial art’s core fundamentals. As students demonstrate progression, they are able to advance to higher levels.
BEGINNERS. Students with little to no experience in martial arts will benefit from learning in an environment geared to their level of knowledge. The core basics are introduced in our Beginners classes, which include correct postures for every position, key applications for self-defense and practical drills and exercises that will encourage proper movement, breathing and positional awareness. The aim of our Beginners classes is to provide students with base techniques and an elementary strategy designed to equip them with the necessary tools for advancement to the next level.
INTERMEDIATE. Students with a solid working foundation of the basics will have the opportunity to put these techniques and concepts to practical use in our Intermediate classes. These classes build upon students’ basic techniques through repetitions, isolation drills, combinations and sequences designed to promote RAPID GROWTH. Whether our students have a basic understanding or if they are already well-versed in their training, these classes help to instill solid positioning and to develop good transition skills for EVERY CONCEIVABLE POSITION OR SITUATION encountered. Moreover, students will find that the Intermediate classes EXTREMELY helpful in developing a style of training more specific to their body type and personality; the training becomes more specific during this stage.
ADVANCED. Students must display a minimal skill level in order to take part in our Advanced classes. These classes are designed to provide more advanced students an opportunity to train with opponents of comparable skill level to their own. The NEWEST and MOST INNOVATIVE techniques will be studied and tested in an open and friendly yet COMPETITIVE environment.
COMPETITION. Preparatory classes for competition are open to students of all levels that express the desire to compete. These classes are regularly held during our competition seasons and provide all students with the most innovative strategies, drills and exercise routines pertinent to SUCCESS in competition.
