TEAM ASCENSION COMPETES AT 2008 NO-GI PAN AMERICAN

Congratulations to our competitors that returned from the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu No-Gi PanAm Championship held in New York City on October 4th, 2008. 

Steve Westner and Sam Katsuras impressively won their first matches, but unfortunately didn't manage to advance in their respective divisions.

Chris Greenwood took the Gold Medal in the Mens Purple Belt Masters Division and put on an excellent and close fight against a 260-pound opponent, the eventual winner, in the Purple Belt Absolute Division.

These guys showed great determination in preparing for and travelling to what is considered to be among the highest levels of competition in No-Gi Grappling.  Congratulations on your performance once again and keep up the great work.  The rest of the team prepares for our next competition, the 2008 Joslins Canadian Open on Sunday, November 9th in Hamilton, Ontario.  Good luck and stay motivated everyone!!!
